This fossilised ammonite shell belonged to Cleoniceras, a genus of fast-swimming marine cephalopods from the Early Cretaceous period, approximately 110 million years ago. Displayed on a bespoke oak stand.

Featuring tightly coiled whorls and intricate suture patterns, the shell once housed a soft-bodied animal that moved through ancient seas using jet propulsion. Over time, mineral replacement has revealed internal detail, often with subtle flashes of iridescence when polished.

Excavated from the limestone beds of Madagascar, the specimen has been carefully prepared to highlight its natural geometry and fine structural detail, a well-preserved example of early marine life.
