This Madagascan Ammonite fossil has been displayed in a museum quality glass dome bell jar. The fossilised mollusc comes from the Cretaceous strata of Madagascar and dates to approximately 110 million years ago.

Once a marine mollusc related to modern squid and octopus, the ammonite moved through warm, shallow seas in a coiled, buoyant shell. Over time, its chambered structure was replaced with minerals, often aragonite or calcite, revealing intricate patterns and subtle iridescence.

Excavated from limestone beds in southwestern Madagascar, the specimen has been prepared to highlight its natural form and ancient symmetry.
