This specimen is a fossilised Mosasaurus tooth embedded in its original sedimentary matrix, dating to the Late Cretaceous period, around 70 million years ago. Displayed in a museum quality deep box frame.
The tooth is large and conical, with serrated edges adapted for grasping and slicing prey. Its preservation within the surrounding rock provides context for the environment in which this marine reptile lived.
Recovered from marine deposits in North America, the specimen has been carefully stabilised to retain both tooth and matrix, offering a glimpse into the ancient seas ruled by these powerful predators.
