This fossilised tooth belonged to the Woolly Mammoth (Mammuthus primigenius) and has been displayed on a bespoke oak wood stand. The tooth dates back to the Late Pleistocene, approximately 20,000 to 40,000 years ago.

Mammoths were widespread across the Northern Hemisphere during this period, roaming cold steppe environments alongside early humans and other Ice Age megafauna.
The tooth features the distinctive ridged surface used to grind tough vegetation such as grasses and sedges. These molars would wear down over time and be replaced in sequence throughout the mammoth’s life. Evidence of wear, mineralisation, or staining on the surface reflects both its functional use and millennia of burial in glacial or permafrost-rich soils.

Recovered from deposits in Siberia or Northern Europe, the specimen has been professionally cleaned and stabilised to preserve its structure and detail. It offers a remarkable glimpse into the life of one of prehistory’s most iconic animals.
